Study of a geometrically morphing building skin for a 1080m high-rise tower, which is wind responsive,
i. e. the overall structural geometry can respond to external conditions. Such adaptive behaviour
enables the optimization of the wind forces applied to the structure and thus enhances the overall
stability of the system. The global shape morphing of the faÁade system can be achieved with a
kinematic system, based on different concepts, such as actuated tensegrity systems or the Kagome
truss, which can achieve a wide range of shapes such as bending, twisting or undulating.
