For the 850 year celebrations of the city of Göppingen a design competition was organized and was won by Stefan Rohrer. The structure consists of six spiral ribbons made of steel and stiffening steel pipes. A 3-dimensional analysis model was set up to enable the design. The artists sketches were digitalized and converted into a 3D-computer model, which was the basis of the structural analysis.
