The proposal for the Financial Centre Shenzhen consists of 2 buildings. On the one hand, a 282 m high office and hotel tower; on the other hand, a 105 m high appartment building. The total area is 155.000 m2. Horizontal stability is provided by a RC core in combination with three external steel riggers (exo-riggers). The arrangement of the exo-riggers is choosen to optimise the stiffness while minimizing the amount of material required. This hybrid system enables a very flexible use of the core and the column-free floors.
